Structural drying in Christchurch CBD
Commercial fit-outs and multi-level rebuild work, where drying has to fit around other trades on a live floor.
Most of our CBD work is commercial rather than residential — office and hospitality fit-outs, seismic strengthening projects and upper-floor conversions. The constraint is rarely the drying itself, it is doing it on a floor where three other trades are working and the programme cannot stop.
Access drives the plan here. Loading through a shared goods lift, restricted after-hours noise limits and power that is already fully committed to other trades all change what equipment we can run. We size the setup to the switchboard capacity available, not to the ideal.

FAQ
Christchurch CBD FAQs
Can you dry a CBD fit-out without shutting the floor down?
Usually, yes. We plan equipment placement around the trades that are working and run the noisier gear outside occupied hours where the building allows it. What we need to know upfront is the programme — which areas are handed over when — so drying finishes ahead of the linings rather than holding them up.
Is there enough power on site for what you need to run?
Often not, and that is worth checking before we quote. On fit-outs the temporary supply is already carrying other trades, so we size the setup to the spare capacity on the board rather than to the ideal. If the board cannot carry it, the honest answer is a longer drying programme, not more machines.
Do you work in occupied buildings?
Yes. Most CBD work involves tenants on other floors. We agree access routes, keep the goods lift bookings, and contain the work area so there is no dust or noise bleeding into occupied tenancies.
