Rolleston has grown faster than almost anywhere in Canterbury and the work reflects it: new residential slabs, house lots on greenfield sites, and the occasional light commercial build. Because it sits outside Christchurch proper, we schedule Rolleston and Lincoln together so travel is shared across the run rather than loaded onto one job.

Greenfield sites bring their own issue — an exposed slab on an open site with no cladding takes weather from every direction, and a wet week before close-in undoes progress. We would rather set up after close-in where the programme allows, and say so rather than bill for drying that the next southerly reverses.
